Friendship With A Different Meaning

They are friends, for the world they are friends, for themselves they are friends, amazing friendship it was. They met when both of them were struggling with their pasts, crying and hoping things to go their way and cursing life for being so rude with them. "Hi" he messaged her. Facebook became the medium of their friendship. "Hello" she replied. And the conversation went on. Two strangers became friends and time brought them closer. "Are you people just friends?" A friend of her asked them. Both of them hoped something else to be the answer from the other end but together they said "Yes just friends and not an inch beyond that." Discussing about crushes to past and so on and they soon became best of friends. But then life happened and this friendship got ruined, for both of them life changed, a drastic change it was. They didn't have anything in common, both had different tastes, different choices and different lifestyles. It was not that sudden, it happened the day he tried to propose her. The room was full of red rose petals, candles enlightened the room, a fragrance of lilies and roses and a soft music accompanying that atmosphere. He covered her eyes while they entered the room but as he removed his hands she was shocked, she never expected such things from him. He kneeled down and sitting on one knee he whispered "Will you marry me?" He never got the answer for this and this was the last time the friends talked.
